Loring Park is built on the experiences of two founders and partners, Mike Schroder and Michael Gold, to support healthcare organizations in achieving their goals.
Our Story
The name Loring Park is inspired by the Minneapolis park of the same name. Unbeknownst to them, Mike and Michael both lived in Minneapolis in the late 2000s before moving back to their Ohio roots. They became friends through their wives who trained together in pediatrics, and it would be another five years before their paths joined at the Midwest Health Collaborative.
Mike and Michael bring a unique blend of varied experiences, built well beyond their current healthcare focus – in industry (retail analytics and merchandising), field (business, academia), as well as geographic perspective (throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East).
With a “partner-led” approach, Mike and Michael are intimately involved in every step of the work with clients – from understanding the initial challenges and defining the approach, to problem-solving throughout the engagement and final deliverables. Loring Park is often supported by project-based team members who bring additional expertise to engagements.
Michael has broad experience in leading growth-stage companies in healthcare and retail. He led analytics and technology for Midwest Health Collaborative, a consortium of six market-leading health systems in Ohio going to market together in value-based care. Previously, he co-founded and sold an analytics firm focused on assisting Fortune 500 companies in retail and financial services on growth strategies, marketing, and supply chain optimization. He started his career as a researcher and instructor of Middle Eastern history.
Born and raised in Columbus, Michael is a rare Michigan fan in a sea of Buckeyes. Michael earned an undergraduate degree in Classics from Michigan, an MA in History from the University of Minnesota, and an MBA from Ohio State University. When not supporting his Wolverines, you can find him traveling, out on a run, or watching his kids play sports.
Mike brings expertise in defining and executing strategy, often amidst organizational change. He headed the clinical transformation efforts for Midwest Health Collaborative. Prior to MHC, he spent five years at McKinsey & Co., working in half a dozen industries and tackling a variety of business problems, eventually focusing on transformation, especially within healthcare. Mike began his career at Target’s headquarters in Minneapolis, spending four years as part of their general management merchandising program.
Mike enjoys time with his family, travel, home projects, and supporting his favorite sports teams — the Blue Jackets, Hoosiers, Bengals, and Crew. His wife is a pediatrician, and together they are proud parents to Ella and Jack. A native of Cincinnati, Mike earned an undergraduate business degree from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
